Third-seeded Masco won the championship.
In the quarterfinals, Pellerin and Sears wore hats, Pellerin with two assists and Sears one, Dealey and No. 2 both also had two assists and Mazzoni pitched a shutout in Masco’s 7-0 win over No. 6 Burlington; Guarnotta scored what turned out to be the winner with 2:18 left in the second period as No. 5 Reading edged No. 4 Woburn, 3-2; and No. 2 Malden/East Boston advanced against the No. 7 Starhawks.
In the semifinals, Sears had a goal and two assists and Pellerin, Hancox, Cinelli and Begley all posted a goal and an assist in Masco’s 8-2 victory over Malden/East Boston; and Schmidt, who also had an assist, snapped a 1-1 tie with 8:53 left in the second period and Reading topped No. 1 Shrewsbury, 5-1.
In the title game, Sears’s second goal of the game, with nine seconds left, gave Masco a 4-3 win over Reading – Bainbridge with a goal and an assist in the win and Woodman two goals and Guarnotta a goal and an assist in the loss.
