In the North, Lindan Verville wore the hat and Gordon Gibbons and Jake Popeo both posted two assists in Needham’s 5-2 win over Newton, which got both goals from Alex Donnelly; Declan Daly scored with 2:18 left to give Newton a 3-3 tie with Dorchester, which had taken the lead when Luke Long scored with 3:12 remaining; Brett Cunningham (second goal of the game) and Colby Jewell (goal, assist) scored 1:48 apart in the second period as Cape Ann trimmed Marblehead 4-2 — No. 65 with both goals in the loss; and Colin Ruschioni wore the hat, Jake Roselli had a goal and an assist and Alex Li two assists as Acton-Boxboro downed Natick 5-2.

Caleb Jaffe scored four goals, Tom Fulginiti also wore a hat and Andrew Bittner had two goals and an assist in a 9-2 victory over Medford – and Tim Smatana capped a four-goal/one-assist game with 2:55 left to give Peabody an 8-8 tie with Cambridge, Brady Ayles with two goals and Brady Leonard two assists for Peabody and Cambridge taking the lead on Fulginiti’s second goal of the game and Jaffe capping a three-goal/three-assist outing 10 seconds apart early in the period, Charlie Taft with 1-1-2 for Cambridge;
