Valley League Update!

The Valley Hockey League is happy to announce that the State of Massachusetts has revised their Youth and Amateur Sports Guidance relative to Ice Hockey and Hockey Games are now permitted effective Monday August 17th!  I know many of you have been anxiously waiting while several other sports across the Commonwealth have been playing games for weeks and months, but this announcement is great news for the sport of hockey and quite timely as we prepare for the start of the 2020-21 Hockey Season.

The VHL 2020-21 season will kick off the week after Labor Day with the following age specific timelines:

  • Midget Games starting at the earliest September 8th
  • Squirt through Bantam Games starting September 12th
  • Mite Half Ice Games starting September 26th

The VHL will be posting new rules and protocols to the homepage with regards to game play and facility guidelines and policies.  The VHL is working directly with each game day facility to ensure that every facility is incorporating the proper guidelines and protocols to keep players, coaches and families safe.

Please be aware that VHL player registration/rostering will be mandated with a much earlier deadline this year. Compliance is essential for the safety of everyone and will be strictly enforced by the league. (more details to come from your program)

The Valley Hockey League is very excited to get all of you back on the ice, but please be aware that we will be working tirelessly behind the scenes with all of our staff, partners and facility operators to ensure that VHL hockey games are conducted in the safest possible manner and environment.  We look forward to seeing you in the rinks.
